The steps are identical with those of the preceding figure. In the beginning, hands are connected to partners opposite hands (right to left and left to right), but now lady's palms are turned up and man's hands rest palms down on the hands of the lady. Unlike on the Window figure, the man raises his left arm and dances under it, releasing the right hand hold.

After this figure the lady's right hand rests palm down on the man's left hand. If the man then picks the lady's left hand on his right, lady's palm down, the couple is ready to dance the window (see video). Similarly, after the window the hand hold matches the start of the gate.
